(The Kuleana & Hoyochi Nikko condo complexes are located adjacent to each other. Thus, the directions for both units is virtually identical)
Directions to your Maui hideaway
You will likely be arriving at Maui's largest airport - Kahului airport. It is located in the the northern valley between the two volcanic mountains on the east and west side of the island. Remember, Maui is "The Valley Isle". When you land in Kahului airport - you are in the northern portion of the valley.
Next, get your rental car. While still at the rental car agency, have their representative give you a map of the island (they're free). Have them highlight for you Kahului airport and the Maui community of "Honokowai" on the west side. (That's where our condo is).
(Now you have a reference for the following instructions, and, just in case you need to stop at a gas station along the way and ask directions - you can simply point to the map and say "..we're going here - to Honokowai").
From the Kahului Airport, follow the signs pointing to Lahaina (route #380 then change to route #30). Continue past Lahaina and Kaanapali. Just past the 27 mile marker, turn left at the stop light. This will be Akahele Street. Turn left on Akehele street.
Once on Akehele street, go two blocks and turn left on L. Honoapiilani Road. Go about 1/10 mile. Hoyochi Nikko #206 will be on the oceanfront side of the street. It's a blue building wth a blue tile roof. Look for the Hoyochi Nikko sign. The sign is relatively small and has blue lettering with a white background.
